6th
Generation Sign Crafters
Frank
Balton & Co., Inc. was established in June 1966.
Balton & Sons, established in 1875 by D.F Balton, began the tradition of
signmaking- painting buildings, houses and signs.
Most
of the billboards and theater marquees in Memphis of the early 1900's were
the work of Balton & Sons. The company also developed and manufactured
the Holiday Inn sign for the original hotel in Memphis, Tennessee. In
downtown Memphis, painted buildings still reflect the hard work of a
previous generation.
Several national accounts have remained under Frank's direction over the
years as the signs are still manufactured here in Memphis. The company has
grown over the years but remains a family owned and operated business.
Frank T. Balton Jr., Robin Balton, Camille Balton, Chris Balton, Stephen
Balton and many other skilled craftsmen continue the legacy of six
generations of signmakers. We specialize in custom electric signs- including
shopping centers, business developments, and neon signs. We manage local &
national accounts; design, manufacture, service, and install signs. We also
install work for other companies. A tradition of quality is the legacy of
Frank Balton & Co.
